The Victoria Bug Zoo opened its doors in 1997 and has been showing visitors of downtown Victoria our awe-inspiring bugs ever since. A visit to this must-see mini zoo offers an excellent opportunity to view and experience live tropical bugs from around the world. All the animals are alive and in tanks.

Wonders in the insects world

I was late but the guide welcomed me and started the tour right away. What an enthusiastic! After a few minutes another client came: family with two boys, then a few couples. He brought us together and started to explain all about the bugs, scorpions, butterflies, ants... we had before us. No matter the questions, he answered and detailed everything. Kudos!

A Victoria Staple

A must-see destination for anyone living in or visiting Victoria! This is a great outing for kids, teens, and adults alike. The educators are knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions, and the variety of insects and arachnids are interesting no matter how often I've seen them. I'd definitely recommend booking up to an hour of your day to pop by the Bug Zoo and check them out!

Well worth a visit for folks of all ages

The educators are so keen and knowledgeable, and they always respond to all of our questions with respect and enthusiasm, even the youngest of us. I love the flexibility of the way they set up their knowledge folks, so that you can easily move in and out of being with them. I deeply appreciate their covid protocols. Certainly a place well worth a visit for curious folks of all ages.

Worth a visit

Loved the Bug Zoo! You need to book in advance and apparently it was really busy for the long weekend. Everyone is super friendly and so knowledgeable!! You can tell that the staff/educators are passionate about their jobs and the bugs. I really enjoyed visiting and I learned so much. I think I was more eager than the children in there haha. Definitely worth a visit and it doesn't matter how old you are, it will be fascinating.
